"To many of The Association’s fans, Birthday, their fourth studio album, ranks as the group’s very best offering. The Billboard Pop #23 LP sported a Top 10 single, ‘Everything That Touches You’, and the Top 40 hit, ‘Time For Livin’. Birthday was a transitional album that found the band and their producer Bones Howe at odds with each other. The group desired more representation of their original compositions, and their insistence on this resulted in the most lushly produced effort the band ever recorded. This deluxe edition features the original mono mix of the album, which has been out of print since its March 1968 release. Even then, copies of the mono LP were almost exclusive to disk jockeys, making this mix an entirely new listening experience for fans. The 16-page full-colour booklet also includes rare, unpublished photos and extensive liner notes featturing the participation of original band members and Bones Howe."
