"Re-mastered edition of the classic 1971 album “Stretching Out” by celebrated Jazz and Rock trumpeter and arranger Alan Bown and his band. This album was Bown’s second and final offering for Island Records and featured new vocalist Gordon Neville who had replaced Robert Palmer (recently departed to Dada). “Stretching Out” was a fine set which demonstrated the musical excellence of Bown’s group, including future Supertramp saxophonist John Helliwell. This edition has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and fully restores the original album artwork. It includes the rare bonus track ‘Thru the Night’, Robert Palmer’s final recording for the band, which featured on the 1971 Island Records sampler “El Pea”."
