Not everyone will agree with the title of this posthumous compilation.

The album includes nothing from Green on Red's early, Paisley Underground days, such as classic album tracks from 1984's GRAVITY TALKS and 1985's GAS FOOD LODGING, although some,  like the mournful country death ballad "16 Ways", and "Fading Away" are represented by late-period live renditions.
THE BEST OF GREEN ON RED focuses on the four records singer/guitarists Dan Stuart and Chuck Prophet recorded as , pretty much a duo: 1988's HERE COME THE SNAKES, 1989's THIS TIME AROUND, 1991's SCAPEGOATS, and 1993's ironically titled TOO MUCH FUN.  These do have their fair share of classics though , check out the swamp blues of "Frozen In My Headlight" or Stones' 'Exile' era "Keath Can't Read' not to mention the classic "Rock and Roll Disease" , all in all a great introduction to a band who 15 years on are getting the credit they deserve.
